The 'Lizzie McGuire' Cast Is Grown Up And We Can't Believe Our Eyes

Have you heard? Lizzie McGuire is coming back, and that means life maybe isn't so bad after all.

Disney announced that Lizzie's story will continue on their new streaming platform, Disney+, and follow her journey into her 30s!

Now that we know the show is coming back, let's take a look at what the cast looks like these days!

"Lizzie" premiered in 2001.

Disney

Unbelievably, the iconic show only ran for three years!

It starred the then-unknown Hilary Duff as Lizzie McGuire, and followed her as she navigated the pitfalls of being a teenager.

She also had an animated counterpart who always rocked a part of platform flip flops.

From her first bra to middle school bullies, Lizzie dominated Disney in the early 2000s.

She had awesome best friends.

Disney

Lizzie was joined by her best friends, Miranda (Lalaine) and Gordo (Adam Lamberg).

Lizzie and Miranda were the best of friends, while Gordo and Lizzie eventually developed crushes on each other.

Maybe teenaged me yelled when they got together in the movie. Maybe.

And her family, of course!

Disney

Lizzie butted heads often with her little brother, Matt (Jake Thomas).

Her mom, Jo (Hallie Todd), was Lizzie's constant confidant, and also my definition of a cool mom. Her dad, Sam, was the epitome of a dorky dad.

Her school was stacked with other friends...and bullies (ugh, Kate.)

Disney

Okay, okay, I know Kate and Lizzie made up in the movie, but man was she mean!

Kate Sanders was Lizzie and Miranda's ex-best friend turned popular mean girl.

And who can forget Ethan Craft, the loveable goof that Lizzie, Miranda, and Kate were constantly crushing on?

Here's what we know about the new series:

According to Hilary Duff, Lizzie's life is going really well.

"She’s older, she’s wiser, she has a much bigger shoe budget, which is super exciting. She has her dream job. She has kind of the perfect life right now."

She also is living in her dream city.

Disney

Lizzie moved to New York City and is working as an apprentice to an interior designer. She's just about to turn 30, too!

Also, she's not single. No word on who her boyfriend is, but we do know he's a restauranteur who owns a restaurant in New York.

Now that we know the tea...

Disney

...let's see what the cast is up to these days!

We don't know if any of them will be returning (save for Hilary, of course), but we can cross our fingers for some cameos.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff's career skyrocketed after Lizzie McGuire. From The Lizzie McGuire Movie to success as a singer, she went from strength to strength.

Try and tell me her album did not slap.

She currently stars in Younger on TV Land, and has two kids!

Adam Lamberg

Adam Lamberg left acting after Lizzie McGuire.

He goes to pretty great lengths to keep his life private, so we won't go too in depth into what he's up to now. What we do know is that he got his Masters in Public Administration, and currently works in New York.

Lalaine

Lalaine continued acting after Lizzie McGuire, but on a smaller scale.

She appeared in a smattering of films and tv series (including a cameo in Easy A), as well as a few web productions.

Jake Thomas

As Lizzie's little brother, Matt, Jake Thomas represented annoying yet loveable younger siblings everywhere.

Sidebar: look at this cute reunion!

Jake, Hilary, and Lalaine reunited in 2014 to go bowling together!

Here's hoping this cute trio will be back for the reboot. Hey, Disney, how much do I have to pay to make that happen? Just wondering.

Ashlie Brillault

After portrayed Lizzie's ex-best friend, then bully, then eventual friend Kate Sanders, Ashlie Brillault left acting.

She's now a lawyer and a mom, and is focused on criminal justice reform in LA!

Clayton Snyder

Clayton Snyder played handsome doofus Ethan Craft in Lizzie McGuire.

He kept acting after the show, appearing in film, television, and a number of high-profile web series.

He's also a self-described "water polo enthusiast", which actually means he plays water polo pretty professionally!

Aaron Carter

You know I had to do it.

Aaron Carter guest-starred in one episode of Lizzie McGuire, playing himself opposite his real-life girlfriend, Hilary Duff.

These days, he's on tour, and came out as bi!
