Boaters Come To Rescue Of People Who Harassed Them Over Pride Flags

A recent incident in Washington State can only be described as karmic retribution.

Or, maybe it can be described as homophobes getting their just desserts. It's also an example of not just the cruelty, but also the kindness, of strangers.

Point is, there are a lot of moving parts to this story. Get your popcorn ready.

It went down at Moses Lake, Washington.

Twitter user @retro_ushi, who identifies as trans and queer according to their bio, was out with their family on Moses Lake.

Their boat was flying rainbow flags, which apparently attracted the attention of another group of boaters.

"These people harassed my family because we were flying gay pride flags in Moses Lake, Washington, by racing around us and shouting gay slurs", wrote @retro_ushi, who also posted these photos.

But then, things took a turn.

A picture is worth a thousand words, and this photo barely needs a caption.

But yes, just to confirm: the boat full of homophobes literally blew up in the middle of their campaign of harassment.

Karma is the great leveler.

I want to laugh, but first, I want to make sure no one was hurt.

Okay, it turns out no one was hurt, so it's okay to laugh.

The delightful epilogue to this story has the homophobic boaters swimming over to the boat they were harassing for rescue.

It's almost too much.

Props to @retro_ushi and family for being the bigger people here. They endured homophobic harassment, then helped rescue their harassers. You can view the full Twitter thread below.

You'd better believe there's video.
