Gisele Bündchen Dishes On Challenges With Tom Brady's Ex

In 2006, Tom and Gisele met on a blind date arranged by a common friend. 

In 2021, Tom revealed how he met Gisele for the first time to WSJ magazine. "My friend Ed approached me one day and said, "I have this girl, and I think you should call her; I ended up calling her, and it ended up being the love of my life."

Soon after, the two began dating, but their relationship met a hitch when Tom's ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan, announced she was pregnant with his son in February 2007.

Gisele admitted to CBS This Morning in 2008 that she considered ending her relationship with Tom after hearing the news.

She said, "It was a challenging thing because here I am, you know, thinking, I'm dating this guy, we met, and we started dating and everything is great and then this happens, So, then I felt like I didn't know what to do. It was kind of one of those moments of like, do I just run away?"

In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Gisele acknowledged that dealing with Moynahan's pregnancy with her son Jack was "a challenging situation for all of us." When asked if the two women always got along well, she exclaimed, "No!"

The couple didn't meet for over a year after Jack's birth before finally meeting and hugging. 

Bundchen said, "Love conquers all, my life became so much richer because I got to learn so much from that. Nothing is worth fighting [over]."

John "Jack" Edward Thomas Moynahan, Tom and Bridget's son, was born in August 2007. Gisele told People in 2018 that she "fell in love" with Jack and that his birth brought her and Tom closer together.

Gisele said, "I'm so grateful for Bridget, I know this was hard, but I couldn't imagine my life without Jack. I call him my bonus child. He opened my heart in ways I didn't even know my heart could expand."

Tom and Gisele got engaged in January 2009 and married in February. In 2009, they welcomed their first child, son Benjamin Rein. Vivian Lake, their second child, was born in 2012.

She said that her primary goal with Brady's ex was to be as "helpful" and "make it the easiest" as possible. "I placed myself in her position and thought, "How can I support her?" Because, at the end of the day, we're all in this together, wondering, "How are we going to do this so [Jack] can have the best life?" She went on to say.

When asked about co-parenting with Brady now that the two are divorced, she said she had "a great relationship" with Moynahan but added, "Everything in life comes with work."

She added, "You have to go through the roller coaster, You have moments where you get to the sticky points and you've gotta overcome it."

Gisele previously said in her 2018 book Lessons: My Road to a Meaningful Life about the time when she found out Brady's ex was pregnant.

Tom informed Gisele that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant two months into their relationship.

The next day, the news was all over the place like fire spread in the jungle, and I felt like my life had been flipped upside down. Gisele had stated at the time.

While the public controversy surrounding Bridget's pregnancy "wasn't an easy moment" for Gisele, she claims the situation improved her relationship with Tom.

Gisele Bündchen also opened up about the end of her marriage to Tom Brady and compared it to "death and rebirth."
