Ben Affleck has been in the spotlight for maintaining an odd demeanor at the event, which is evident in all the pictures of the couple that have surfaced so far. Thankfully, we might be learning more about the situation.
Decoding the GRAMMY's viral moment starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. The couple generated interest on social media during the ceremony on Sunday when they could be seen conversing while host Trevor Noah performed a skit in front of them.
The whole thing began when Affleck whispered something into his wife's ear, and she answered by turning to face him and lightly tapping his chest in response to his statement.
Forensic lipreader Jeremy Freeman provided explanations of the conversation to ET to break down the incident.
"I believe when Ben Affleck whispered into... Jennifer Lopez's ear, she replied with, 'Stop. Look more friendly. Look motivated,'" Freeman said. "[Then] she turned away and Ben Affleck shuttered uncomfortably... and [said], 'I might.'"
Affleck, 50, began the tense exchange on Sunday by whispering into the ear of his wife of six months, but she jerked away and appeared to snap at him in response.
He frowns, straightens his blazer and posture, and then suddenly realizes they are being recorded.
After the fact, a source told ET that:
"Jen and Ben had a fun date night out at the Grammys, but they have both been very busy working on several projects, and Ben was feeling tired. He wanted to go and support Jen, but he wasn't his usual self."
The source claims that Jen had a great time and wanted Ben to be excited to be there, but she understood his perspective, added the source:
"Jen knows Ben is a great husband, and they still make sure to have a good night together."
According to the source, Lopez is aware of how supportive Ben is of her and her work, but she also understands that Ben prefers to stay at home and that attending events frequently isn't his thing.
At this point, we must pardon Ben for his expressions of disinterest toward the award.
Although Jlo and Ben's relationship hasn't always been easy, they have shown us all that true love can exist no matter how long it takes.
They met on the set of Gigli. Predictably, by the time the critically panned film's conclusion arrived, their characters had fallen in love and were married.
