Emma Roberts is reacting to Neve Campbell not returning for the movie Scream 6. The 31-year-old is seemingly massively taken aback by 48-year-old Neve, who this month confirmed that she will not return for the sixth installation of the popular horror franchise. Neve has starred in each movie since the franchise began back in 1996. Emma, meanwhile, is a former costar of Neve, having played her on-screen niece back in the 2011 movie Scream 4. Emma spoke with Jake's Takes about her feelings - she doesn't even seem to think it's "real news."

Revealing her reaction, Emma said, "Someone just sent me that [news] last night, and I was like, 'This can't be real news. Like, this has to be fake!' I mean, she's queen. That's all I have to say." The niece to Julia Roberts was reacting to the official statement from Hollywood favorite Neve.

In a statement, Campbell wrote, "Sadly I won't be making the next Scream film. As a woman I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream," adding: "I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise."
"It's been a very difficult decision to move on. To all my Scream fans, I love you. You've always been so incredibly supportive to me. I'm forever grateful to you and to what this franchise has given me over the past 25 years," Campbell continued. The hugely popular Scream franchise has scored over $744.5M at the box office. Fellow stars include Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Drew Barrymore, Jamie Kennedy, and Skeet Ulrich. In 2022, the franchise welcomed rising star Jenna Ortega, now making headlines for Wednesday on Netflix.

Neve did return for the fifth entry of Scream, one that premiered in early 2022. Meanwhile, Friends alum and Scream star Cox gave her take, stating, "I got the script yesterday," adding, "I haven't read it yet, I just got it...
