But despite achieving what many only dream of, Catherine is not yet ready to retire. Fans will get to see the Hollywood icon in another production this December. This time, Catherine will take on a role in a movie in the National Treasure franchise. During a recent chat, the actress spoke about being on National Treasure: Edge of History. Catherine Talks About Her New Show

On December 7, Catherine appeared as a guest on Good Morning America to do a promotional run for her Disney+ show National Treasure: Edge of History. During the interview, the actress told the hosts that she has always been a big fan of the franchise, describing it as a fantastic treasure hunt franchise. Then, she went ahead to reveal how she got to be a part of the upcoming movie.

According to her, Jerry Bruckheimer, whom she has known for many years, called her and asked if she wanted to be a part of the new Disney+ production. Excited, Catherine said yes, asking what role she could play. Then, Jerry told her she would be acting as a villain. After reading the first three episodes, the actress confessed that it would be fun.

Eventually, Catherine got to work, and just like she had hoped for, the filming experience was fun. The actress said she loved working with an amazing and mind-blowing young cast and a brilliant script.

The Movie's Plot

For now, the action-adventure movie National Treasure: Edge of History will be for one season and tells the story of Jess Valenzuela (Lisette Olivera), a brilliant and resourceful dreamer searching for answers about her family. She embarks on an adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about the past and save a lost Pan-American treasure.

When Is The Movie's Release Date?

In early May 2020, Jerry revealed that the series was in the works for Disney+. Then, in July 2022, the series' title was finally released, and the official teaser trailer dropped the following month. So now, after waiting so long, the show will finally be released on December 14, 2022, on Disney+, with the first two episodes available immediately.
