'1000-Lb Sisters': Tammy Slaton Gets Much-Needed Offer From Dr. Smith

Reality star Tammy Slaton has continued to face difficulty with shedding some pounds, and things have even gotten bleaker as she battles mental health. In the latest updates about the 1000-Lb Sisters star, fans got to see Tammy's zest for weight loss dwindle, but her bariatric surgeon, Dr. Smith decided to drop by to offer some help.

Dr. Smith Speaks To The Slatons

A few days ago, fans got to see the surgeon have a quick chat with Tammy's siblings, Amy and Chris Slaton, concerning her habits and how her mental health had deteriorated further. In his monologue, Dr. Smith noted that he last saw Tammy three months ago, and at the time she had not made much of an effort toward her weight loss. The celebrity doctor noted that he just thought to swing by to show his support as he had nothing to lose in doing that.

Dr. Smith met up with Tammy's family members, and after asking after the TV star, Chris relayed that he would not be surprised if Tammy was back to "690, 700 pounds." Amy chipped in letting the doctor know that Tammy had returned to drinking hard liquor. At this point, Dr. Smith noted that they needed to get to the toot of the problem and not just help her to stop drinking.

Amy recalled telling Tammy that the drinking was not good for her, but she noted that the latter replied that she needed to work on her mental health. Dr. Smith then stated that Tammy was right as her mental health was not good while adding that she has to be willing to do something about it and talk to a therapist.

After discussing with her siblings, who thought talking her out of her depressive state was the first stage of helping her, Dr. Smith headed to Tammy's home. The medical practitioner shared in his aside that he left the decision in Tammy's hands but did not want her to feel like he was giving up on her. When he asked the TV personality how she felt, Tammy noted that she was feeling good at that moment. This opened the portal for the discussion on how she felt on average. The star relayed that she felt good sometimes, and other times, it was otherwise. She went o to state that she was struggling with her mental health "big time." Through Dr. Smith's questions, Tammy shared that she was battling depression, and it was often worse when she was by herself. The star stated:

"That's why I kinda feel like I needed to just take a break. Not think about diets, [or] relationships. Just clear my mind. Just work on me."

Dr. Smith Offerred Her Therapy

Tammy admitted that she had been partying and drinking more while telling the surgeon she did not want any lectures. The 36-year-old included that she also smoked and recently started vaping. She added that she drank approximately eight bottles a week. The TLC star noted that she knew her vices were probably not doing her any good, but she just wanted to "be free."

Ultimately, Dr. Smith told Tammy that whenever she was having those hard days, she could reach out to him, because he was willing to listen to her. He asked if Tammy would consider going back to rehab and she gestured to show she would not. He then proceeded to suggest that Tammy could consider speaking to a psychiatrist, and she nodded in the affirmative.

Tammy is Still In Honeymoon Phase

Some weeks ago, Tammy made headlines as she tied the knot with her partner Caleb Willingham, in their rehab facility. The duo had decided to walk down the aisle after a whirlwind romance.

Following the ceremony, Tammy took to social media gushing over her man and letting fans know she married her best friend. Many admirers took to the comment section letting the TV star know that they were supportive of her and wished her and her spouse the best.
