Teacher Gets Reported After Telling Teen Girl To 'Control Her Period' During Class

A couple of days ago, we brought you misconceptions men have about women.

A LOT of these included bizarre things about our periods, like how women are dirty for having them or that we can control it.

Well, that last misconception got a teacher potentially fired for his comments.

Buckle up. This is a wild one!

Reddit user PizzaPepparoni brought her controversial story to the community, "Am I The Asshole."

She began by explaining that she's 16 and learning from home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Even so, there are rules students must follow, like always keeping their cameras on during the entire class.

This means that if a student has to use the bathroom, they must privately message their teacher to ask if they can leave.

Sounds simple enough, right? Well, one day this student had a class with Mr. T. She described him as "quiet and reserved" and never really that strict.

During their class, she received two surprises — first, she got her period.

Then, when she privately messaged the teacher, asking to use the washroom, she was surprised he didn't answer after 10 minutes.

She messaged him again — no avail. By this point, she was getting really uncomfortable and had to explain to him that she had started her period and really had to go.

Here's the real kicker. He replies, "You should have planned better. Learn to control yourself."

"uhhh... What?" the Redditor wrote. "I CAN'T control my period." When she tried to explain this to him (a GROWN MAN WITH A DEGREE), he didn't respond. This left her with no choice but to leave.

"I got annoyed and switched of my camera anyways and left to the bathroom," she wrote.

"Once I came back, I saw that he had kicked me out of the meeting. I later found out the he had written me for switching of my camera and I was given a warning. I was pissed."

The school has a system where every student is mailed a google doc at the end of each week.

There, they can write out any grievances they had with their classes that week.

Well, the student decided to use the doc to air out her frustrations.

This came with serious repercussions for Mr. T.

The girl found out through her mother (who's also a teacher) that Mr. T is being investigated.

As it turns out, there have been multiple complaints about his behavior and this girl's was the last straw.

These turn of events earned her no sympathy from her dad, brother, or a few of her friends.

They're calling her an [expletive] and saying that she "could've just waited for a while instead of complaining and potentially making a man lose his job, especially during this time."

As a result, she feels really guilty.

She doesn't want this man to lose his job and questions whether she's in the wrong.

Thankfully, SOMEONE has her back — Reddit. They quickly let her know that she's not in the wrong. The teacher is, as well as her friends and family.

"Your dad, brother, and friends (who i am assuming are also male) are the [expletives]," Redditor levitatingloser wrote.

"I'm so [expletive] tired of men thinking we can just hold in our period blood the way you can with your bladder," they continued.

"This is a grown [expletive] man teaching a class of kids that are probably half female. He should know the bare basics about menstruation and how to address if a female student is having an issue.."

Another pointed out that the teacher was highly unprofessional.

They believe that the teacher brought this firing on himself.

"Teacher isn´t losing his job because of OPs complaint, but because of how he acted towards both her and apparently other students as well," Redditor Im_your_life wrote.
