Mermaid Gardens Are The Enchanting New Trend Replacing Fairy Gardens

Who here was once obsessed with creating a magical fairy garden in their backyard? Well, if you thought that was a lot of fun, I've got news for you.

There's a new trend that I think you should get on this year. I'm going to tell you all about it below and my guess is that you will fall in love with it, too.

I don't know about you, but I'd like to create an outdoor oasis in my backyard this year.

And this idea I'm about to share with you is right up my alley. As it turns out, this year, people are replacing fairies with mermaids in their gardens.

Yes, you read that right.

Instead of creating fairy gardens, folks are putting a mermaid theme in their gardens, and I think it's such a cool idea. Why? Because you can create so many fun scenes with that idea in mind.

Get a load of this idea.

Now all the gardeners are switching out their pixie dust for colorful and pretty seashells. So as you can imagine, the key to creating beautiful scenery is the selection of seashells. I say the more, the merrier, but it's totally up to you.

You can also add some coral elements, and, of course, sand is always a good idea.

Some folks have also used fishbowl gravel for that added special touch in their gardens. Wow, that sounds pretty amazing to me. How about you, huh?

What about plants?

Of course, you need some suitable plants, no? To create that perfect beachy feel, the best plants would be succulents. They come in all shapes and sizes. And the best part is that they're very durable and require less maintenance.

The last but very important aspect of this garden idea is the mermaid.

You can get one large statue to be a centerpiece of the whole thing. Or you can have a few smaller mermaids pop up here and there.

You can get some cute planters to fit into your mermaid theme.

Check out this adorable one here. Awe, I love it. It's so fun. Isn't it? It's a perfect planter for cascading succulents like these. I totally dig this idea.

Or you can get a hanging plant stand like this one.

Oh my goodness, how pretty is this? I would totally hang this one in my garden. In fact, I need to start looking for one ASAP. I'm obsessed with it, hehe.

So what do you think about this idea of a mermaid garden?

I absolutely love it. In fact, I'm going to add some beachy elements to our backyard this year. I already have a bunch of seashells I've saved over the years.
