Candace Cameron Bure Defends Firing Back At Trolls Over Controversial Family Photo

Actress and '90s icon Candace Cameron Bure is best known for being timeless and eternally youthful. I mean seriously, she looks the exact same as she did 20 years ago.

DJ Tanner was a huge part of so many people's childhoods, and now that Candace is a grown queen, she is dealing with a lot of issues I only wish Danny Tanner could help her with nowadays!

As you may recall, Candace Cameron Bure's family Christmas photo sparked *a lot* of backlash.

How can a Christmas card spark controversy? Have you ever been on the internet? People like to make a mountain out of a mole hill, as some may say.

"Happy New Year from the Bures!! Looking forward to what 2021 has in store. I’m praying for unity, grace, humility, compassion and love for mankind. With God, all things are possible," she captioned the Christmas pic.

The photo features Candace; her husband, Valeri; and their three children: 22-year-old daughter, Natasha; 20-year-old son, Lev; and 18-year-old son, Maksim.

The photo features all family members posing in different directions and for seemingly different photos.

When I tell you the negative remarks came flooding in...it was like a FULL ambush in the comments!

"What’s wrong with Natasha, looks like she’s photoshopped," wrote one fan.

"Why do your daughter & son look so angry???" asked another.

"Fakest family ever! Who does this? Is it a catalog picture? And those dead looks on your kids’ faces says it all," commented another.

In response to the comments, Candace commented on her picture, saying, "Wow- I post a family photo and you all find everything you don’t like about it or can make fun of."

She continued: "Do better than that. Please."

A few days later, Candace took to her Facebook to call everyone out for their bad behavior.

In a spicy post, the 44-year-old wrote, "I posted my family Christmas photo and sadly, there were so many unkind comments."

"Do you think it’s funny to criticize someone’s children? To make jokes about them? To critique our poses? The direction in which we are looking? Our physical appearance and facial expressions?" she continued.

"I wished blessings upon everyone as I shared it in the spirit of a happy new year, yet so many of you came back with jokes about our appearance and criticism of what you thought would have been a better photo."

Now, Candace is doubling down on the defense of her family, as she SHOULD!

While chatting with Extra, the actress explained why she had such an issue with the hate.

"Listen, on social media, everyone gets criticized, and if you are a celebrity, I mean, it just comes with the territory, and I can handle it," she started.

"But the second someone starts to criticize my children, or say negative things like that, mama bear comes out."

"I just had to remind people that there are real people with real feelings behind the screen and I’m not posting for your negativity."

"In that instance, I was simply sharing a family photo that was so beautiful to me," she explained.

"Even a hint of people criticizing my family picture I wasn’t going to take," she concluded.

I love that! If you're not going to stick up for your family, who will?!
