Girlfriend Ariana Madix and ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute met up to show their support for Tom Sandoval's special performance 🤘
Love lives here: Tom Sandoval’s longtime girlfriend, Ariana Madix, and ex, Kristen Doute, rally around him to ensure a successful concert. They came out to support him during his live performance of his new single, “superstars.”
Ariana, 37, Kristen, 40, and her podcast co-anchor boyfriend, Luke Broderick sat close together.
Tom Sandoval, 39, sang his heart out, grooving to the original track alongside his 11-piece cover band, Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras.
“This is a special night, and I’m so excited,” Sandoval exclusively told Page Six ahead of his set on Wednesday night at TomTom in West Hollywood.
“I originally got into this band because I kind of gave up on doing original music,” he continued. “And that’s just because of how much time it takes and how much of a perfectionist I am, and the insecurity that comes with putting out your own music versus playing covers that everybody knows.”
Yes, they did. Attendees enjoyed Sandoval’s lively renditions of Rick Springfield’s “Jesse’s Girl” and more retro hits.
While performing “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers, he reached out into the audience to hand the mic to fans, eager to sing along.
At one point, he notably gave Kristen Doute a chance to sing and showcase her voice, showing how far the exes have come since their 2013 split.
Now, Ariana Madix—who has been dating Tom since a year after he ended his former relationship, and Kristen Doute are great friends, even after the latter left Pump Rules in 2020.
The ladies—Ariana and Kristen's bond and connection were on full display as they applauded and cheered Sandoval on during “Superstars.” They were dancing together and recording videos on their phones to immortalize the moment.
The gig came after a watching party for Season 10’s fourth episode, which featured the tune’s live debut at The Canyon in Agoura Hills, California, filmed in July 2022.
It was crafted and produced in a Los Angeles recording studio before it made its way to the stage and the lip of the fans.
“We actually recorded ‘Superstars’ at Energy Studios,” Sandoval told Page Six. “The No Doubt ‘Tragic Kingdom’ album was made there, Linkin' Park’s ‘Hybrid Theory,’ all these amazing works. It was incredible.”
Despite previous insecurities, Sandoval is now inspired to release more original singles —especially after working with producer Stavros and songwriter Matt Hartke.
"When you have a song that you’ve known and grown up with, it just seems right,” he explained, noting The Most Extras’ penchant for performing classics from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s.
“That’s the right way to do that song. But when you’re writing stuff yourself, it can be very confusing: Is this right? Is this the right way to do this? We should change this,” the musician disclosed.
"And then, after you’ve had it for a while, you start second-guessing yourself. But I’m just glad that I was able to get past that and also work with a great team.”
Aside from Ariana and Kristen, Sandoval’s best friend and business partner, Tom Schwartz, their boss, Lisa Vanderpump, her husband, Ken Todd, “Pump Rules” mainstay Peter Madrigal and celebrity jeweler, Kyle Chan, were also among the packed crowd at Wednesday’s event.
Superstars is available on Apple Music, Youtube Music, Spotify, and all major streaming platforms.
