The CEO shared a cozy picture of herself and Martin on Thursday to shower him with birthday tribute as he clocks 46. Paltrow rocked a no-makeup look and nerd glasses as she leaned her head on Martin's shoulder as they posed in the parking lot.
The actress showered encomiums on her ex-husband and described him as "the sweetest father and friend."
"we love you, cajm," she wrote as she completed her wish.
The pair married from 2006-2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. They have two children, Apple, 18, and Moses, 16.
Paltrow and Martin announced their separation in 2014 via the GOOP website, titling it Conscious Uncoupling.
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate."
However, since the dissolution of their marriage, they have become close friends, attending family vacations together with their respective partners.
The actress revealed to the Evening Standard that they were separated for a year before making the official announcement and sought advice from people in similar situations.
"We kept it very quiet, and in that time I asked adult friends with divorced parents what they remembered."
She continued that divorce and separation was hard on those she spoke to, at least during the early stages of the process.
"There was this resounding theme: "It was really hard because for the first two years, my parents didn't speak. It was awful for a while," or "My parents hated each other."
The actress reiterated that she didn't want her situation to be like that.
"And I thought, I would really love to skip that part. Those kids felt they were constantly betraying one parent by being with the other."
Her birthday message to Martin comes shortly after she celebrated her husband and Glee star Brad Falchuk's happy birthday as he turns 52 on Wednesday.
Even though he's not on socials, it didn't stop her.
"He won't see this as he's not on social (another reason why he's so cool) but let's all wish him a happy birthday anyway."
The Glee star dated Ben Affleck in 1997. They both starred in Bounce and Shakespeare in Love.
Paltrow and Affleck's relationship was on and off for three years.
