Alyssa Farah Griffin On 'The View': Shades Kylie Jenner Over "Mean-Spirited" Behavior

The TV presenter made it known that she was quite interested in the social media drama going on between the singer and the social media celebrities. Griffin started off by noting that the internet "is not always what you think it is," nonetheless, she chose to take sides with Selena Gomez.

The 33-year-old relayed that she felt there was a gang up against the It Ain't Me, crooner, from Jenner and Bieber. Griffin supported her opinion by noting the post made by the duo which sparked fans; criticism She stated, "They posted something mocking, and it was mean-spirited."

Griffin went on by commending Selena Gomez's social media content which she described as a promotion of body positivity. She noted that the award-winning singer uses her platform as the most-followed woman for good causes.

The View host shaded Kylie by referring to her as the second most-followed woman on Instagram. She stated that the Kylie cosmetics boss's media platforms most contained thirst traps and "sort of like, Come to my page and maybe someday you can look this good if you have enough money to buy it.'”

The TV anchor chipped that she does believe that mean girls exit. Hostin cited the years-long love triangle of Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Hailey. She added that most Jenner and Hailey made "as a shade post." She added that Selena did well by not meeting their energy.

Hostin stated how impressive Gomez's reaction was as she noted that it was a wonderful thing to do. However, the TV star relayed that she was sure it felt "painful to see it." She concluded that women need to stop being mean to each other.

The current social media tiff between Hailey, Jenner, and Gomez goes back to January when the Back To You singer faced scrutiny after paparazzi shared a photo of her in a bikini. The snapshot was met with body-shaming comments, and it intensified after Hailey and Jenner made a post. The duo was joined by singer Justin Skye in a TikTok clip where they lip-synched to the words, "I'm not saying she deserves it. I'm saying that God's timing is always right."

The TikTok clip which has since been deleted had critics flooding the comment section as many thought the model mocked Gomez. Gomez would later comment in a reuploaded version of the clip shared by a fan.

At the time, the former child star wrote that she never let such things get her down. She sounded off a word of advice by asking fans to be "nice to everyone."

As things seemingly got out of hand, Hailey took the time to also comment. She noted how she never commented on such situations, before explaining. The media star stated that she ad her pals were having a "girls' night' before they decided to do a "random TikTok sound for fun." She concluded that it was "not directed at anyone."

A few days ago, the Only Murders in the Building actress posted a series of photos and clips on TikTok joking with fans that she 'accidentally laminated" her eyebrows too much. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that a few hours later, Jenner posted two images on her Instagram stories showing her brows and writing the words, "this was an accident???" in bold. The words were also written over her brows.

The second image the mom-of-two shared was a screenshot of a Facetime session with Hailey. In the image, the duo had her brows in up-close views. Many fans doubled down on the posts as they felt they were possible shades thrown at Gomez. Many clamped down on the pair's social media actions as they felt it was no longer a coincidence. Some also termed it childish behavior.

The KUWTK alum wasted no time commenting under a TikTok clip shared by a Selena fan who analyzed the situation. Kylie noted that her intent was not to shade Gomez and she had no idea that the singer made brow posts. Gomez also commented agreeing with Jenner while adding that she was a fan.

It seemed as though things relatively simmered down, but the drama was far from over when Gomez came across a resurfaced clip of Hailey. In the video, the wife of Justin Bieber was seen sticking out her tongue at the mention of Taylor Swift's album. In the comment section, Gomez stated, "So sorry. My best friend is and continues to b one of the best in the game."

Although the celebrities involved kept their spat vague, fans have been capitalizing on all the subtleness. There has been a follow and unfollow trend which had led Gomez to become the most-followed woman on Instagram dethroning Jenner. In the last few days, the latter has lost over one million followers.

In light of all that has transpired, Gomez decided it was time to take a breather from social media. The star who has been known to take long stretches of time away from the internet announced on TikTok that she needed time away. She wrote, "I'm so blessed. I have the best friends, [and[ the best fans in the whole world, and I just couldn't be happier. I'm good. I love who I am. And, yeah. I'm gonna be taking a second from social media 'cause it's... this is a little silly. I'm 30. I'm too old for this." Although she deactivated her account, the page has been reactivated.

Earlier in February, the star opened up on her weight struggles relaying that her lupus medication contributed to her fluctuating weight. She noted that she would rather be healthy and take care of herself. She added that her medications were important and she thinks they help her a lot. She added for good measures that she was not a model although she thought they "were awesome."

Away from the back and forth on the internet, it appears the younger people in Gomez and Jenner's family seem to be getting along really well. A few days back, Gomez's younger sister, Grace Teefey, and Jenner's niece, North West collaborated to show off their friendship.

The little girls took to TikTok letting fans in on their playtime. In a series of clips shared to North's TikTok account which she shares with her mom, Kim Kardashian, the duo took fans through their pasta-making clip and they had fun making the delicacy.
