Rihanna's Father Surprised by Her Pregnancy Announcement At the Super Bowl

Like about 118 million other people who watched the halftime show, he only found out when his daughter stepped onto the stage for her performance, her baby bump obvious underneath her red outfit.

Ronald told TMZ that RiRi got him tickets to the show but didn’t inform him that she and her partner, A$AP Rocky, were expecting baby number two.

When he saw her bump, his reaction was just like everyone else’s. “Oh my god! My baby girl looks pregnant!” he told his partner.

He also shared that he was “over the moon” about becoming a grandfather again. But after four grandsons, he was hoping for a girl this time around.

Ronald had the same wish last year when news first broke that the Diamonds singer was pregnant with baby number one.

Back then, he also told TMZ he wanted a granddaughter. But in case it was a boy (which it was), he said he’d probably get his wish some other time because Rihanna told him she planned to have more kids.

However, Ronald admitted he has not had the chance to spend time with RiRi and Rocky’s nine-month-old son.

That’s because he lives in Barbados and his superstar daughter always has a packed work schedule.

The We Found Love hitmaker shocked the world on Sunday, February 12, when she headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona while pregnant with her second child.

While she did not say anything about her pregnancy, her bump did all the talking. A rep for the star also confirmed the news after the show.

She now holds the distinction of being the first pregnant woman to headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

Her appearance at the NFL event was also extra special considering she has not performed on live television since 2018, when she sang Wild Thoughts at the Grammy Awards.

The Fenty Beauty mogul prepared a 12-song setlist, including some of her biggest hits like B***h Better Have My Money, Umbrella, and Diamonds.

She gave an amazing performance on a moving platform suspended high above the stadium. Not bad for a pregnant woman!

Meanwhile, Rocky was one proud boyfriend as he watched from the sidelines and filmed her on his phone.

Rihanna and Rocky welcomed their first baby last year. She made the revelation in January 2022 when she stepped out in New York City with her bump exposed. In May, she gave birth to a boy.

Back in 2018, she was asked to perform at the Super Bowl but declined the offer to show solidarity for Colin Kaepernick.

This time around, she was ready to say yes to the halftime show, partly because of her son.

During a press conference ahead of her performance, she said, “When you become a mom there’s something that just happens (and) you feel like you can take on the world, you can do anything.”
