A KWWL sports anchor and reporter from Waterloo, Iowa, Mark Woodley, broke the lifelong code of pretending everything is fine on camera when reporting in a winter blast earlier this week.

He went viral for letting the audience at home know how displeased he was about being in the cold due to his job description.

The sports news anchor recently got reassigned to the weather report department causing him great displeasure.

'This Is What You Get'

Woodley showed up to work and decided to go "kamikaze" on everyone by revealing his work conditions during his report. Firstly, he ensured he dressed for the weather in a black windbreaker and gloves.

Then, he showed his employers what they get when they make a sports reporter resume work early to cover a blizzard. The video has over 133,000 likes, with more than 21,000 retweets and 4.8 million views.

Bringing Personality To The Show

Everything about his report was sarcastic as he replied to the newsroom anchor with snarky retorts. When asked about his feeling Woodley said, "The same way I was feeling the last time you asked me about eight minutes ago. I usually do sports but it's canceled here for the next few days."

So, the network called him to resume five hours earlier than usual and take the weather report segment. He pointed out the irony in standing in a blizzard yet telling home watchers not to do the same.

"I'm used to these evening shows that are only 30 minutes long."

Getting The Short End Of The Stick

Woodley then questioned the network about the process that picked him to fill in the weather report space. He felt one of his colleagues, Clint got the better end of the deal while he was subjected to the freezing blizzard.

The reporter said it was good news that he could still feel his face, although he wished he couldn't, then asked to return to his normal duty and save viewers from seeing him get crankier by the second.

The Blizzard Is No Joke

Twitter users teased Woodley for being so good at reporting and hinted that the network might make him a regular on the weather report segment. He survived the -40 degree Fahrenheit weather and warmed up between takes, so it wasn't as inhumane as he led his viewers to believe. He admitted that while his approach was playful, the blizzard wasn't a joke and implored Iowa residents to take it seriously.
