Let's All Remember When Faith Hill Snubbed Carrie Underwood at the 2006 CMAs

If we learned anything from Friends, it's the importance of handling a loss gracefully.

Remember when Joey freaked out when he lost the Soapy Award to another soap opera star? Yeah, not a good look.

When a celebrity does the same thing, it becomes front-page news. One such moment was when Faith Hill freaked out over losing the CMA (Country Music Awards) award to Carrie Underwood. It will definitely go down in award show history.

It's No Secret That the CMAs Pales in Comparison to Other Award Shows

Millions of people tune in, year after year, to the VMAs, the Oscars, the Emmys, and the Golden Globes. The CMAs, however? Not so much. A lot of this has to do with the fact that the only music genre being celebrated is country. Another reason is the show's lack of drama over the years.

Only a few particular dramatic moments stick out, like when Miranda Lambert reportedly didn't clap after her ex-husband, Blake Shelton's, performance.

When Shelton performed his single, all eyes were on Miranda and her husband in the audience. But instead of some giving a standing ovation like the rest of the crowd, Miranda remained seated.

She didn't even clap! "Everyone stood up for Blake at the end of his performance except Miranda Lambert and her husband," an eyewitness told Us Weekly. "At the commercial break, they both left their seats," they said.

Drama! Then, at this year's award show, singer Maren Morris attended the event amid her feud with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean.

Maren and Brittany Are Still Feuding

Morris slammed Brittany for transphobic remarks. These comments were made by Brittany on Instagram when she shared a makeup tutorial on her page. "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase," she wrote. "I love this girly life."

In response, Maren dragged Brittany on Twitter, writing, "It's so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie."

Yikes! If you thought that drama was bad, allow us to take you back to 2006.

At the Time, Carrie Underwood Was New to the Country Music Scene

She had just won American Idol in 2005. She was clearly a force to be reckoned with, as she was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for the first time in her career at the CMAs.

Carrie must've felt honored to be nominated against Gretchen Wilson, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and Faith Hill. But the feeling wasn't mutual, as Faith Hill screamed, "WHAT?!" and threw her hands up once Carrie was announced as the winner.

All of this was captured on camera, sending the internet into a firestorm. This prompted Hill to release a statement at the time, writing, "The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention, given the talent gathered, is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving female vocalist of the year."
