The Queen Shares Emotional Message Following Several Missed Events

As fans will recall, HM Queen Elizabeth II was told to rest for two weeks following her stint in the hospital in last month. At the time, it was reported the monarch was recovering from a back sprain but would be able to attend the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday, Nov. 14th.

However, after HM was unable to participate in that event, fans began to worry.

In late October, it was reported that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth had spent one night in the hospital.

The night spent in King Edward VII's Hospital in London was later explained as "preliminary investigations."

The statement said that the HM remained in "good spirits" after the stay, and was back at her desk the following day.

"Following on from their recent advice that The Queen should rest for a few days, Her Majesty’s doctors have advised that she should continue to rest for at least the next two weeks," the palace said at the beginning of the month.

"Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday, Nov. 13," the statement added.

"Her Majesty regrets that this means she will be unable to attend the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday, Nov. 13," the statement added. "However, it remains The Queen’s firm intention to be present for the National Service of Remembrance on Remembrance Sunday, on Nov. 14."

As we know now, HM was unable to attend the National Service of Remembrance.

On Tuesday, the 95-year-old cancelled her appearance at the Church of England’s national assembly. Instead, Prince Edward attended the event in her place.

Prince Edward read a statement on behalf of HM.

"It is hard to believe that it is over 50 years since Prince Philip and I attended the very first meeting of the General Synod," Her Majesty shared, as per MSN.

"None of us can slow the passage of time; and while we often focus on all that has changed in the intervening years, much remains unchanged, including the Gospel of Christ and his teachings."

"Of course, in our richly diverse modern society, the well-being of the nation depends on the contribution of people of all faiths, and of none. But for people of faith, the last few years have been particularly hard, with unprecedented restrictions in accessing the comfort and reassurance of public worship," she continued.

"For many, it has been a time of anxiety, of grief, and of weariness."

"Yet the Gospel has brought hope, as it has done throughout the ages; and the Church has adapted and continued its ministry, often in new ways — such as digital forms of worship.”

Prince Edward concluded by saying the Queen sent her "sincere and deep apologies that she cannot be here today," adding "think you probably understand why, and she regrets that deeply."
