Football Fans Who Save Cat In Viral Video Is Everything I Needed To See Today

Cats really do have nine lives!

A stray kitty used one of his recently when he found himself dangling from a wire at the upper deck of a football stadium.

Heroic football fans snapped into action, using the American flag to save the poor kitty!

If this doesn't make your day, I'm not sure what will!

What is it with cats and sports lately?!

Back in August, a cat got loose on the field of the Yankees-Orioles game at Yankee stadium.

“Look at this thing go, this is faster than anyone on the Yankees,” announcer Kevin Brown said on the Orioles’ broadcast.

Yankee Stadium crewmen tried to chase down the kitty without much luck at first.

Meanwhile, the crowd was cheering louder than they did at the actual game!

“MVP,” they cheered as the scared kitty, who seemed frantic for an exit, kept escaping from the crewman.

“I feel a mixture right now of amused and sad,” Brown said. “Somebody’s gotta get the cat. Just let him into the bullpen.”

After many failed attempts to catch the kitty or release it into a nearby exit, a door was opened to the stands down the third-base line. This led to the creature's hasty escape.

Most recently, a stray cat got loose at the football game between the Miami Hurricanes and Appalachian State.

It was the first college game of the 2021 season — and an eventful one at that!

Viral videos captured the poor kitty hanging by a wire that was dangling off the upper deck.

Local 10 news reported that it was fans sitting in the west end zone who noticed the furry creature first.

Fans above the upper deck tried to save the cat, but were unable to reach down far enough.

Since people didn't want it to hurt itself, fans started spreading out the American flags they brought to the stadium to catch it if it fell.

"Well this may be the craziest thing I’ve seen at a college football game," Twitter user @DannyWQAM captioned his viral video.

His video gained 5.8 million views in its first 14 hours on the platform. Thankfully, it had a happy ending as the kitty was captured by the flag when it fell.

People in the stands were cheering loud when this happened.

Many loved the “Lion King treatment" that the cat got when he was held up in the air like Simba in the Disney film.

One person even added the "Circle of Life" song overtop the video.

Some, however, thought this was unnecessary.

“Great they saved the cat, but why traumatize it afterwards?" one Twitter user wrote in response to another viral video.

"That cat was freaked the [expletive] out when the guy was holding it up in the air like a trophy," they wrote.

The stadium’s official Twitter account also tweeted about the incident.

“We are happy that due to the heads up nature of fans in sections 107, 110 & 208 the cat landed safely after a harrowing fall," they wrote before adding, "we wish the cat the best in his remaining eight lives.”

Reporter David Wilson talked to the Miami couple who saved the cat with their American flag.

"One of them is a UM facilities manager," David shared. "They have the flag at every game. They also got peed on in the process.” LOL.

But that still didn't solve how the cat got stuck in the first place.

Another viral video answered this, as it showed the cat stuck in a tarp on the upper deck for 20 minutes before he fell.

Sadly, there's no word yet on whether the stray cat was obtained by animal services or rescued.

However, the Hard Rock stadium did reveal that they donated to the Humane Society in Miami and encouraged fans to do the same!

We love that!
