Quotes For People Who Miss The Simpler Days Of Flip Phones

I'm not about to start bashing today's generation for knowing more about technology than me, because this is simply the world they've grown up in, so how is that their fault?

Instead, I'm going to bash myself because somehow I've ended up knowing next to nothing about today's technology, even though I once considered myself some sort of wiz kid because I knew how to log onto the internet before my parents did.

Yet, as it so inevitably always seems to happen, I have now taken my parents' place as the dimwitted, technologically-impaired elder who needs a younger person's help just to download an app on my iPhone. If you're also the kind of person who's missing the simpler days of flip phones (remember those?) I think you're really going to enjoy these quotes.

I can't remember the last time I held a physical photo.

When I was younger, I used to actually have to wait for a store to develop my film before I even knew if the pictures I took with my camera were any good. Then when I was a bit older, we got digital cameras, and I had a better idea of which ones were worth printing.

Now I have an entire album on my phone dedicated to screenshots of recipes I'm too lazy to write down.

Okay, maybe we'll make fun of them *a little*.

It's just a little funny that we don't know how to cast a show from our phone to the television, but they also don't know what temperature to set the oven if they want to cook a chicken breast.

So I guess we're even?

The gift that keeps on giving: technology.

Look, unless you want to spend your entire Christmas morning trying to set up your kid's super cool new piece of technology for them, I suggest picking something else from their list to get them this year.

Like a lacrosse stick. No assembly or tech support required.

I've decided I've learned enough for a lifetime.

One day they're going to reach a number in iPhones where I won't be able to use it without someone's help, so I've decided that I'm just not going to even bother.

When that day comes, I'll just give up on cell phones completely. Problem solved.
