10+ Pics Of The 'Little House On The Prairie' Cast Then And Now

When you think of classic, wholesome family television, Little House on the Prairie is one of the first that comes to mind. I used to love watching reruns before school each and every morning.

It got me wondering what is the cast up to today?

Let's find out with these 10+ pics of the Little House on the Prairie cast from then and now.

*Little House On The Prairie* is truly one of the best shows of all time, and it is certainly a classic.

But, considering the show premiered all the way back on September 11, 1974, it's been a LONG time since we've seen some of the cast members.

Which means they have gone through some changes!

You might not even know what they look like now or some of the projects they did after *LHOTP*.

Thankfully, we are here to help with that!

Take a look at these incredible transformations of the LHOTP cast to get you feeling super nostalgic for a simpler time.

1. Melissa Sue Anderson as Mary Ingalls.

NBC / ABC

Melissa is best remembered for her bright eyes and a glowing smile. She was a part of the Little House cast from day one right up until the very end.

She appeared in a number of TV shows over the years like The Love Boat.

2. Matthew Labyorteaux as Albert Ingalls.

Little Albert Ingalls is all grown up! Since his time on the prairie, Matthew has become a sought-after voice actor.

Most recently, Matthew appeared in the Star Wars: The Old Republic video game series.

3. Rachel Lindsay Greenbush as Carrie Ingalls.

NBC / ABC

Rachel Lindsay Greenbush chose not to continue onward with her acting career after Little House on the Prairie.

She appeared in a single episode of Matt Houston and hasn't acted since. We wish her the very best!

4. Alison Arngrim as Nellie Oleson.

Alison is still acting to this very day! She's appeared in over a dozen direct-to-video features, and currently has a film in post-production called Even in Dreams.

She also has a one-woman stage show called Confessions of a Prairie Bitch.

5. Dean Butler as Almanzo James Wilder.

A lot has changed since Little House on the Prairie was on the air, but Dean Butler's smile remains as charming and timeless as it ever was.

You'll probably remember him as Hank Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

6. Michael Landon as Charles Ingalls.

NBC / NBC

Michael Landon was only 54 years old when he passed away, succumbing to pancreatic cancer.

He carried Little House on the Prairie on his broad shoulders, and it's safe to say that without him there'd be nothing.

7. Merlin Olsen as Jonathan Garvey.

Did you know that Merlin Olsen used to play football for the Los Angeles Rams?! He's considered one of the greatest Tackle to ever play the game.

After hanging up his cleats, he became known as Jonathan Garvey.

8. Charlotte Stewart as Eva Beadle.

It's been a long time but Charlotte is still as beautiful and as cunning an actress as she ever was.

Most recently, you may have seen her in David Lynch's reboot of the cult classic Twin Peaks.

9. Katherine MacGregor as Harriet Oleson.

Katherine was the kind of character you loved to hate. As incredible as she was as Harriet Oleson, Katherine chose to never work again.

She's appeared in one short film since and that's all.

10. Dabbs Greer as Rev. Robert Alden.

Dabbs is a true television jack of all trades. You'll likely know him as "that guy" from "that movie."

But I'll always associate him as being "Old Tom Hanks" in The Green Mile. The movie gets me every time!

11. Karen Grassle as Caroline Ingalls.

Aside from her role as Caroline Ingalls, Karen Grassle is maybe best-known for playing Mrs. Sutherland in the '94 western Wyatt Earp.

Since then, Karen has made herself scarce, appearing in a handful of low-budget films.

12. Linwood Boomer as Adam Kendall.

Linwood Boomer was a total hunk during his stead on Little House on the Prairie! It's nice to see that not a lot has changed.

Catch Linwood in the tasty black-comedy series, Santa Clarita Diet.

13. Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls.

Melissa Gilbert has been a fixture in Hollywood since the time she was a small girl.

She may always be Laura Ingalls to the rest of the world, but to me she's Barbara Gordon aka Bat-Girl from Batman: The Animated Series.

14. Jonathan Banks as Jed.

NBC / AMC

Though his tenure was short-lived, Jonathan Banks did appear in a single episode of Little House on the Prairie.

Although we all know him from his days spent playing the ruthless Mike Erhmantraut in AMC's Breaking Bad.

15. Jason Bateman as James Cooper Ingalls.

That's right — Jason Bateman got his big break playing little James Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie.

Jason has made a career off of appearing in hit TV shows: Little House on the Prairie, Arrested Development, as well as Ozark.
