10+ Celebs Getting Even More Money From Their Side Hustle

Yes, it seems like just being a celebrity isn't enough to make crazy amounts of money these days! Some of them actually go out and start side hustles!

It might not work out for some of them, but for these next couple of celebrities, it works a lot better than their day job.

Maybe they should quit acting!

1. Kevin Smith

Wikimedia

When he's not making movies about Canadians, Kevin Smith is off at his New Jersey comic book store: Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash.

The place sells comics, toys, DVDs, all sorts of nerdy stuff.

2. Nick Offerman

Offerman Wood Shop

Nick Offerman may be one of the manliest men in Hollywood.

The voice, the beard, his passion for woodworking. Oh, speaking of that, he actually started an Offerman Wood Shop where he sells... wooden stuff. Like pencils.

3. Rupert Grint

Go ahead, guess what Rupert Grint's side hustle is. Anti-spider spray? Wand tape? The second banana from the bunch?

Nope. He actually owns a bunch of property and is just a landlord.

4. Jeremy Renner

Instagram | @renner4real

Speaking of owning property, when he isn't out being the worst Avenger, Jeremy Renner is out there being a pretty decent house-flipper.

And apparently he's made a bit of money doing it!

5. Carmen Electra

This model/actress has really banked on her beauty and her fitness line.

She's got a whole slew of striptease DVDs, as well as some pole dancing ones as well. She also sells the poles themselves!

6. Mark Wahlberg

A&E

One of the funniest and most iconic actors of our generation also has his own restaurant.

It's called Wahlburgers, which yes, we know is one of the greatest names ever.

Mark Wahlberg teamed up with his two brothers Paul and Donnie for the project.

A&E

And the restaurant actually has a show on A&E named after the place.

Their first location was in Boston (of course) but since then they've expanded to places like Toronto, Las Vegas, and New York City.

7. Beyoncé

Not only is she, you know, Beyoncé (as in she should just make money for existing) but she also has a line of activewear that is taking the world by storm.

The line is called 'Ivy Park'. And here's what she said about it: “My goal with Ivy Park is to push the boundaries of athletic wear to support and inspire women who understand that beauty is more than your physical appearance."

"True beauty is in the health of our minds, hearts and bodies. I know that when I feel physically strong, I am mentally strong and I wanted to create a brand that made other women feel the same way.”

8. Whoopi Goldberg

You might not expect this from Whoopi, but she actually owns a medical marijuana company.

And here's the rub: she makes it for women suffering from menstrual cramps. A noble cause indeed.

9. Jessica Alba

She went from Hollywood's sweetheart to mother to owner of a billion-dollar company. That's right, The Honest Company, her brand promoting safe, eco-friendly products, is a certified billion-dollar company.

Good for you Mrs. Alba!

10. Justin Timberlake

Bet you didn't know this: but Justin Timberlake owns MySpace! I know, have you ever heard a more 2000s sentence than that?

Anyways, he relaunched the site as a music site in 2013.

11. Ashton Kutcher

Instagram | @aplusk

While we may know him from That 70s Show, these days he's more into his company A Grade Investments.

They provide startups with a little bit of capital to make their business work.

He's been on "Dragon's Den" a couple of times, and has backed companies like Spotify, Uber, Fab, and Airbnb.

And that's just a few of them! Man, Kutcher must be rolling around in cash with all those great investments!

12. Venus Williams

Before she was kicking butt on the tennis court, Venus was going to school for interior design.

With that power, she started VStar Designs, and she designs luxury apartments.

“Like design, tennis is always moving and changing."

V Starr Interiors

"Your opponent constantly changes, as well as the courts, conditions, and the tactics. The same can be said of design. Each client is different; each design solution is challenging and distinctive."

13. Sandra Bullock

Wikimedia

The actress has opened a number of food-related businesses over the years.

She started out with Bess Bistro, a place where you can get good, healthy foods that are environmentally friendly.

She lives by an old adage:

“If you can’t pronounce it, you probably shouldn’t be putting it in your body or in your environment.”

Good for you, Sandra! But the buck doesn't stop there folks, not for one second.

She also owns what is weirdly called a bakery-deli-flower shop hybrid, Walton’s Fancy and Staple.

Her sister helped make the design for it.

It seems she's really into the whole environmental, flower child kind of thing.

14. Nicole Richie

Instagram | @nicolerichie

You may have gotten a kick out of making fun of her and Paris Hilton on The Simple Life, but as it turns out as long as she isn't farming Nicole Richie is pretty good at what she does.

Especially when it comes to being a designer.

Back in 2008, she founded a company called House of Harlow 1960 that has been doing very well over the years.

She also has a handbag collection, fragrance, and some other beauty products that she sells.

15. Clint Eastwood

Produzioni Europee Associati

I think it's safe to say that Clint Eastwood is a fan of the small, beachside town: Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

He lives there, and he was mayor of the town from 1986-1988.

This wouldn't be a side hustle article if we didn't mention the little hotel/resort he has in the city, the Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant.

Malpaso Productions

From what we hear, the place is awesome.

16. Steve Carell

Wikimedia

What is this, the 1800s? Apparently, none other than Steve Carell is out here buying General Stores!

What are they selling, beaver pelts and gunpowder?

Back in '09, he bought the Marshfield Hills General Store in Marshfield, Massachusetts.

Marshfield Hills General Store

He and his wife like the summers up there and we assumed they figured might as well buy a general store to keep us busy.

Steve Carell even helps out with the store from time to time.

Marshfield Hills General Store

Or at least the photos on the website of him smiling with customers shows that he's around sometimes.

17. Sarah Jessica Parker

HBO

Would it make sense for Carrie Bradshaw herself to create a line of shoes?

Let me ask you this, Sex In The City fan, would you have had it any other way?

The brand is called SJP.

Wikimedia

Which our experts have decoded is short for "Shoes Justice Party" (sarcasm).

They've got some really nice designs as well. They also make handbags, if you want a complete SJP look.

18. Dan Aykroyd

Columbia Pictures

He's a man who believes in ghosts that played an original Ghostbusters.

He's a former SNL actor, he's a musician and for the last couple of years, he's been an entrepreneur.

Three words: Crystal Head Vodka.

Wikimedia

This top of the line vodka is filtered through semi-precious metals known as Herkimer diamonds, and it also comes in a really neat skull head bottle.

So you know, best of both worlds.

19. Jay-Z

Jay-Zs got a pretty big empire, but it became even larger in 2003 when he bought the high end the 4040 Club.

It's like a sports bar and club got together and had a luxury baby.

He said about it:

Wikimedia

“I love sports and wanted to create an environment that is conducive to match my lifestyle, while watching the games at the same time,”

Well, if it's owned by Jay-Z, it's gotta be luxury.
