Following a manic episode last week that resulted in Amanda Bynes being placed on a psychiatric hold, sources are now giving an update on the embattled actress’ condition as she gets treatment in a Los Angeles hospital.

Hospital Stay Is Extended

According to info obtained by TMZ, the 36-year-old All That alum’s hospital stay has been extended for one more week, possibly longer.

Focused On Healing

She’s focused on healing, getting professional care, and being monitored closely every day. If she doesn’t make significant progress, her stay at the psychiatric facility could be extended up to a month.

No Post-Hospitalization Plans Yet

However, she’s reportedly not communicating with people close to her, and there are no plans yet as to what she will do once she leaves the hospital.

The sources didn’t say if she had any recollection of the events leading up to her hospitalization.

What Happened To Her

The outlet broke the news on March 19 that Bynes was spotted naked and roaming the streets near downtown Los Angeles before flagging a car down.

Psychotic Episode

She informed the driver that she was coming out of a psychotic episode and then called 911 on herself, after which she was brought to a police station where her mental health was evaluated.

5150 Psych Hold

The team determined that she had to be placed on a 5150 hold or 72-hour psychiatric hospitalization, according to TMZ’s law enforcement sources. Other than her mental health crisis, she didn’t appear to be hurt.

Eyewitness Account

Following the incident, an eyewitness spoke to ET about seeing the Sydney White star “wandering alone on Hollywood Blvd. at around 1 am on Saturday.”

'Walking Tensely And By Herself'

“No one really recognized her or noticed her. She was walking tensely and by herself,” the person added.

A Woman Helped Her

However, she was later accompanied by a woman who “tried to help.” The eyewitness said, “Amanda asked the woman to hold her.”

'Wholesome Mood'

The person added that Bynes “seemed to be in a loving, wholesome mood” and “seemed as though she was out of it.” She also asked the woman to take her to her friend’s house in Beverly Hills.

The Woman Stayed With Her

However, her friend didn’t answer the door, so Bynes asked to be brought back to Hollywood Blvd., which the woman did.

'Did Not Want To Go Home'

According to the eyewitness, Bynes explained that “she did not want to go home and noted that her boyfriend kicked her out.”

Another Encounter

Meanwhile, another eyewitness shared her encounter with the She’s the Man actress on Friday, March 17, which was St. Patrick’s Day – complete with a video uploaded to TikTok.

Took A Stroll Together

The TikTok creator called kaitlynhotfox filmed herself walking the streets of Hollywood arm in arm with Bynes, who even said, “What’s up?” and waved to the camera.

History Of Mental Health Issues

The former Nickelodeon star has a long history of mental health issues. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and this isn’t the first time she’s been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Past 5150

Her first 5150 happened back in July 2013 after she allegedly set an elderly woman’s driveway on fire. In October the following year, she was hospitalized again after making abuse allegations against her father.

Conservatorship In 2013
