One thing about Swifties, they'll come for you if you touch Taylor Swift. This was the exact case for Anna Marie Tendler, who faced the full wrath of Swift's fandom after she accused the 22 singer of copying her art on her Eras Tour. The artist has now come out to set the record straight and apologize for her actions.

Keep reading for all the scoop.

She Stole My Art

The artist reacted in a TikTok video where she said the Grammy award-winning singer's stage set up for her Tolerate It performance resembled one of her works in "tone and aesthetics."

It's About The Decor

The creator continued that the decorations, which comprised a dining table and candles, bore a striking resemblance with her 2021 portrait, which she showcased for comparison.

Asking The Fans For Help

Tendler then proceeded to ask her followers and fans for help in unraveling the contents of the stage setup while she added.

"It doesn't totally feel like parallel thinking to me. I’m a small artist, [an] independent artist who is trying to make money and live off of my artwork.”

Swifties Are Not Having It

The video drew serious attention from Swift's fans, who trolled her heavily for making such baseless allegations. It's not a secret that Swift's fans are so protective of her and would chase after anyone who attempts to taint the White Horse singer's image.

A Big Retraction

Following the extent of the reaction, Tendler retracted her words and called her reaction in the footage a joke or satire.

The 37-year-old continued:

“When I realized it wasn’t landing as a joke I deleted it, Didn’t mean offense.”

Trust Issues

However, Tendler's apology was met with mixed reactions from the fans and one Swiftie who found it hard to wrap their head around her explanation wrote:

"Ahh the ‘it was a joke’ defense when the thing you meant seriously turned out to be horribly out of touch!” “she can’t seriously be accusing taylor swift of stealing her idea of setting a table … but sure piggyback off another artist to get your name out there,” another displeased fan added.

Tendler Has Defenders Too

The artist's fans also rose to the occasion and reiterated that her video was truly a joke while stating that haters can't take a harmless joke and have a problem with reading her tone.

Going Off

Following the backlash, Tendler changed her TikTok account to private.

Tendler's Relationship Update

The popular photographer is dating chef Nicholas Tran following her divorce from John Mulaney. The former couple tied the knot in 2014 in the Catskills Mountains in New York.
