Riley Keough revealed a lie she told during her audition for Daisy Jones & The Six. She opened up at the Four Seasons on Monday amid her ongoing family feud with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley.

The Zola actress made an appearance on a panel during the screening of the show in New York City. At the panel, Riley confessed that lied she could sing during the audition. She stated, 'I think I blacked out on that meeting. I don't really remember what happened. And then I auditioned like everybody else, and lied to them and told them l could sing.'

Riley Has No Professional Experience In Music 

Lying about knowing how to sing was not the only thing Riley shared on the panel. Riley had no prior professional experience in music before the show. She also revealed that she was not familiar with the 2019 novel.

However, the 33-year-old fell in love with the storyline after reading the novel. The Mad Max: Fury Road actress recalled getting the role of Daisy and then realizing she had never read the book. This in turn prompted her to do the needful.

How Riley Worked With Her Co-star

Riley's co-star, Sam Claflin who played Billy Dunne, told People at that time that the actress was a joy to work with. He added that she did not have much musical experience but they leaned on each other.

Star actress and executive producer Reese Witherspoon made it known that Riley "utterly transformed for this role." The Legally Blonde star described Riley as a quiet and reserved person. Besides Riley and Clafin, other stars who appear in the Prime Video original include Suki Waterhouse, Sebastian Chacon, Josh Whitehouse, Camila Morrone, and Nabiyah Be among others.

What Fans Can Expect

The new series will contain 24 original songs recorded by the cast. The music will be released by Atlantic Records as the series proceeds. The miniseries will debut on March 3, 2023. This will be followed through with new episodes airing every Friday until March 24.

Riley Revealed She Tapped Into Her Family's Musical Heritage

Since Riley and Priscilla's family feud, the actress's press outings have been curated. The actress does not talk about her grandmother or mother. However, she told Entertainment Tonight that she tapped into her family's musical heritage regarding her role in the coming series. The granddaughter of Elvis Presley added that it was a fun experience doing that during months of band rehearsals. She continued that it was her personal experience with playing music.

The mother-of-one stunned at the Los Angeles premiere of Daisy Jones & The Six on February 25, 2023. On the red carpet, the actress rocked a plunging black dress. She was also accessorized with big gold and green earrings.

The Premiere Comes Six Weeks After Lisa Marie's Demise

The premiere was held six weeks after the sudden death of Riley's mother, Lisa Marie. The 54-year-old singer died from a cardiac arrest. At the funeral of her mother, Riley was overcome with emotions that she could not take to the podium. Riley's husband, Ben Smith-Petersen read her eulogy while also announcing their daughter, Tupelo's birth. 

Priscilla And Riley Not Talking Amid Family Feud

The premiere came up amidst a family feud between Riley and her grandmother, Priscilla Presley. Priscilla has contested the validity of her daughter, Lisa Marie's trust amendment dated 2016.

Before the premiere, a source shared that Riley and Priscilla were no longer communicating. The source added that the actress and Priscilla were once close. However, she saw a new side of her grandmother after her mother's death.

A source shared how the American Honey actress felt about Priscilla challenging her mother's trust. The source revealed to ET that Riley wanted to keep her mother's legacy in a positive light.

Priscilla Questions The Authenticity Of Lisa Marie's Trust Amendment 

In 2010, Lisa Marie named Priscilla and Barry Siegel as co-trustees. However, it was revealed that she amended her trust in 2016, naming Riley and Benjamin Keough as co-trustees. Benjamin died in 2020, leaving Riley as the sole trustee. However, Priscilla questioned the validity and authenticity of the amendment.

Priscilla's Grievances Over The Trust Amendment

She claimed her name was spelled wrong, and Lisa Marie's signature seemed inconsistent, among other claims. Through the back and forth that has ensued, Riley and her grandmother have been communicating through their lawyers. As the hitch in the family keeps brewing, the actress has gotten some support from insiders.
