It's no surprise that a lot of celebrities are fans of one another, especially when they're part of the same industry. It's also no surprise that some stars become friends with those they admire. And for us fans, seeing them interact is always a treat.

Last week, Adele said she was going to attend the Super Bowl just to watch Rihanna's performance during the halftime show. And, as social media pointed out very quickly, she remained true to her promise.

Earlier This Month, Adele Said She Was Going To Attend The Super Bowl For Rihanna

"I'm going just for Rihanna, I don't give a freaking flying F***," the star, 34, said to a fan during one of her performances at her Las Vegas residency, Page Six reports.

Her declaration became a hot topic, with fans all over the internet wondering whether or not Adele would actually attend the Super Bowl. With a little over a week before the big event, fans had to wait and see.

Performing a medley of her greatest hits, Rihanna, 34, took the stage for the first time in over half a decade.

Of course, it didn't take long before fans spotted Adele in the audience, as eager to see Rihanna's much-anticipated performance as the rest of us.

While in her seat, Adele could be seen shushing the people around her in preparation for the performance.

The Move Makes Sense Since Adele And Rihanna Are Longtime Friends

Adele and Rihanna's friendship dates back years. Adele even wrote the Time profile for Rihanna back in 2018.

"I actually can’t remember the first time I met Rihanna; I was probably numb from the shock of it,” she wrote in the profile. “She is one year older than me, but I feel she’s been around forever. The progression of her superstardom feels steady, well deserved, and extremely natural."

Adele continued, expressing her admiration for Rihanna all throughout the piece. She ended by saying, "She glows like when someone’s taken a picture with a flash and you’re dazed for a few minutes after. But it’s also very clear in that glow that she genuinely doesn’t give a f***; she’s fearless and full of all the right kind of attitude to be everything that she is and will be forever."

This Comes Shortly After Adele's Appearance At The Grammy Awards

Adele attended the 2023 Grammys, which were held earlier this month. She was nominated for six categories and won Best Pop Solo Performance for Easy on Me.

The singer spent much of her time at the awards show with her celebrity pals, which included Beyoncé and Lizzo. Lizzo recently admitted that she and Adele had quite a bit to drink that night, causing some confusion for the two of them.

"Me and Adele were drinking so much that we didn’t even really know what the categories were at this point," she admitted. "We were like, 'Wait. Did they do best new artist?' We didn’t even know when it was time and they would just call out names so we were like, 'Smile, smile.'"
