Tabloid culture in the early 2000s and 2010s made life hell for Jennifer Aniston, who struggled to get pregnant but watched people speculate about her non-existent baby bumps. The actress opened up about the pain as she celebrated growing older earlier this year to Allure Magazine

Aniston was always chirper at red carpet events and a delight to work with, according to people who've shared production sets with her. So, how could the world know that its intrusive inquiry into her maternal life (or lack thereof) was causing a sweet superstar pain?

Relationship With Social Media

As Allure bid farewell to its last print issue, the magazine enlisted Aniston as its cover girl, thus revealing parts unknown to her devoted fans. The 53-year-old said she had nothing more to hide and was ready for those parts to come out.

The actress started by admitting her hatred for social media, although she joined Instagram for business purposes. You can tell by how little she uses the platform and the strictly business posts she shares.

Then the truth about her pregnancy struggles surfaced.

Aniston said she loves herself more than ever at 53 than she did in her late 30s and 40s. Despite struggling to get pregnant, it shaped her into the person she is today.

"I would’ve been stuck being this person that was so fearful, so nervous, so unsure of who they were."

The actress detailed how she went through IVF treatments, drinking Chinese teas and every other medicine you could think of just to become a mother. Unfortunately, her generation lacked the wisdom to freeze eggs and live without pressure, so she didn't know she could do either.

Baring It All

"All the years of speculation... It was really hard. I would’ve given anything if someone had said to me, ‘Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor."

What's left after such a harrowing experience? Acceptance, and that's what Aniston did. She accepted her fate, albeit painfully, because of the media attention then. The tabloids speculated her childlessness was the reason for her failed marriage, calling her selfish and what-not.

"It was absolute lies. I don’t have anything to hide at this point."

A Dying Breed Of Celebrity

As the interviewer rightly noted, Aniston is part of a dying breed of celebrities who made the spotlight shine brightest. Now, we have viral sensations who become popular off social media personalities and soundbites.

People like Aniston, put in the work through years of dedication to their craft, while fame came as a secondary effect. She's a vintage piece amongst a rack of contemporary items like her beautiful outfits for the magazine spread.

Aniston was a vision in several vintage and archive pieces from high-fashion brands (another thing that's dying). Check out the star in vintage outfits from Dior to Giorgio Armani, and Chanel.
