Mariska Hargitay is having a tough time amid the news that her Law & Order: Special Victims Unit costar Kelli Giddish has left the series after 11 years on the show. Kelli, 42, played Detective Amanda Rollins for over a decade, and Mariska has taken to Instagram with a post to address the sad revelation. Giddish posted to her social media to mark her departure - now Mariska is responding in a recent Instagram share. Posting for her 2.6 million followers earlier this month, Mariska gushed over Kelli, also saying that she only has "respect" for her.

In a bittersweet message, Mariska wrote,

"Kelli, I've loved acting, learning, growing, talking, laughing and crying with you," adding, "I've loved watching your achingly beautiful performances. Plenty of users have replied. One sent love to both Mariska and Kelli.

"Such a beautiful testament to 2 women who empowered, empathized and encouraged each other. What this world needs to see🙌 I have literally seen every episode of SVU and every partner you have had has molded you into the Captain you have now become," they said. Giddish had announced her departure from the popular TV series back in August. The show itself has been running since 1999. Kelli said that she wanted to "address the chatter" that she had seen online and that, yes, this would be "my last season." She delivered her statement via People.

Mariska Will Miss Her

Giddish also stated that playing Rollins had been one of the "greatest joys" of her life. She added that there was "simply no other character" like Rollins on television. The NBC series continues, though.

Mariska has also marked the departure via a touching hugging snap of herself and Kelli, this following her last appearance in the Law & Order space. "I'm holding tight to this one. Love you kid," she wrote with a black heart emoji.

Glamour Women Of The Year

In 2022, Mariska has been making other headlines, including red carpet ones. Earlier this year, she stunned in a form-fitting silver dress while gracing the red carpet of the Glamour Women of the Year Awards. Posting her look to Instagram, she gained a "STUNNING" comment from actress Hilary Swank.
