The greatest home run hitters still strike out; the greatest boxers on the planet all have at least one loss to their name. Sometimes, we simply come up short, and other times we miss the mark completely.
This is a part of reality that Oscar-winning actress, Sandra Bullock, knows all too well. In a recent interview with TooFab, Sandra got candid and revealed the one film on her resume that still causes her embarrassment to this very day.
Sandra was one of the most sought-after actresses all throughout the '90s and into the early '00s. She appeared in some of the most iconic movies of the decade, including Speed, While You Were Sleeping, and The Net.
In 2010, Sandra went on to star in the much-beloved sports film, The Blind Side, wherein she received her first Academy Award nomination for "Best Actress in a Leading Role" — her first and only Oscar to date.
Early in 2022, Sandra sat down with TooFab, along with her co-star in The Lost City, Daniel Radcliffe. While doing promotion for the forthcoming film, Sandra and Daniel were each asked to name the one film in their respective repertoire that made them feel the most embarrassed. Sandra didn't hesitate for a moment and quickly replied, Speed 2: Cruise Control.
In Speed, Bullock played Annie Porter — an unlucky woman who simply got on the wrong bus at the absolute worst time you could possibly imagine. As Annie is quickly made to realize by LAPD's Jack Traven (Reeves), a bomb has been planted aboard the bus they're currently traveling on — set to go off if the speedometer drops below 50 mph.
Sensing that the film would be a failure, Reeves made the wise decision not to touch it with a ten-foot pole. Unfortunately, Bullock's foresight wasn't as palpable. Speed 2: Cruise Control was both a commercial as well as a critical failure, and currently boasts a meager Tomatometer Score of 4% on Rotten Tomatoes.
"I’ve been very vocal about it," Bullock explained. "Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island." While the film may not make sense, at least Bullock can laugh about it now — just as her fans have been for the last 25 years.
