Most people love dogs, but actually owning one is a whole different story. While taking care of an adorable pup can be as rewarding as it is fun, it simply isn't for everyone (especially if you own other pets that might not get along with a dog).

One woman let her sister and her 1-year-old son move in with her, but has a problem with the sister's dog. The sister, on the other hand, is upset, calling the woman "heartless" for wanting nothing to do with the dog. The woman decided to ask the AITA Reddit community if she's wrong for wanting her sister's dog out of the house.

She Only Has A Problem With The Dog

OP and her husband live with their three kids. Her sister, who is 19, has an infant son of her own as well as a dog. OP has no problem with her sister and nephew living with them since their parents are not supportive, but she has an issue with the dog moving in.

OP does not want to have a dog in her house, as she has cats and worries about the dog's aggression. She also doesn't want to end up taking care of the dog, especially since the sister isn't financially stable and might rely on OP for dog supplies.

OP, who believes her sister should never have gotten the dog to begin with, finally said that her sister could only stay if she gets rid of the dog. The sister, of course, is upset by this and told OP that she's being cruel. Now, OP is wondering if she crossed a line.

Redditors Agree OP Is Justified

Users agree that, for the sister, it's a tough situation, but she also needs to respect that OP doesn't want a dog in her house. The sister needs to prioritize taking care of her son over the dog, at least for now.

Should Not Have Gotten The Dog To Begin With

Even dog-lovers agree that the sister shouldn't have had the dog.

It seems that the sister isn't open to compromise, either. The dog could stay with another relative for the time being, but the sister refuses to separate the dog and her son.

The Sister Is Out Of Line

Users agree that the sister is being unfair.

For the child's sake as well as the dog's, the sister needs to decide what's most important. At the end of the day, OP shouldn't have to welcome a dog in her home if she doesn't want to.
