The Internet Reacts To McDonald's 'Grease Proof' Gaming Chair

As if the world didn't need anything weirder, we now have something that intersects both the gaming and fast food worlds. And honestly, not in a way any of us were expecting.

Earlier this month, McDonald's in the UK got ready to launch their newest menu offering, a chicken sandwich dubbed the McCrispy. As part of an event to promote the sandwich, McDonald's unveiled what might very well be the strangest thing any of us will have seen on the internet today: The McCrispy Chair.

The chair is part of a giveaway, which means somebody can (and probably will) put this thing in their gaming room.

True to its name, the chair is decorated with the McDonald's signature yellow.

The official Esports Twitter page posted a pic of the chair, showing its design and sharing its features. Not only is it a chair, but it also has holders for your fries, drink, and dip, a hot box "to keep your McCrispy warm while gaming," napkin holders, and is made with grease and stain-resistant material. It almost sounds too good to be true.

Or maybe I should say, it sounds too horrifying to be real.

It's no secret that too much fast food is bad for your health. Apparently, those typical gamer chairs you might see someone sitting in during a livestream aren't all that good for your posture. For some users, the McCrispy is a pretty good example of what you get when you combine the worst of both worlds.

You would have expected that most people would hate this chair with a burning passion, but that ended up not being the case.

Weirdly enough, a lot of people... actually kind of liked it.

For some of us out there, just looking at the McCrispy chair is enough to fill you with dread. But for others, the design itself was actually one of the highlights. Maybe there's something about the sharp yellow and contrasting black that gamers just can't get enough of.

Or maybe, the chair is just so ridiculous, you kind of can't hate it.

Would I want this thing in my house? Absolutely not. But I can't help but understand why people would kind of love the McCrispy. Sure, it's hideous, not at all convenient, and seems like it wouldn't be that comfortable. But the whole idea behind a McDonald's branded gaming chair is actually really funny.
