Judy Sheindlin, a.k.a. Judge Judy, recently told the story of her very famous neighbor and what he did to avoid her at all costs while they lived in the same building.

International pop star Justin Bieber was reportedly scared of the judge and went out of his way to not run into her, and though she isn't certain, she thinks she might know why.

Judge Judy has revealed that she frightens one of the world's biggest pop stars.

Judy, full name Judy Sheindlin, spoke to Access Online about the fact that she used to live next to the one and only Justin Beiber back in 2014 when Beiber was only 19 years old.

Not only that, but he used to be "scared to death" of her.

The two lived in Beverly Hills.

They both had an apartment at Montage Hotel, and Sheindlin recalls seeing Beiber do some childish things.

"There was a period of time before he grew up when he was foolish and doing foolish things," she described.

She doesn't remember exactly what she said that scared him so badly.

"I must have said something about [his bad behaviour] and then, I understood that he was paying the front door people [at Montage Hotel] to let them know when I was there, coming and going, so he wouldn't have to bump into me."

After some sleuthing, people are suspecting it was her comment about his arrest.

In 2014, Bieber was arrested and charged for driving under the influence.

At the time, Sheindlin told CBS News, "Being a celebrity is a gift; you can either treat it reverently, or you can make a fool out of yourself, and he's doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself."

That's not all he got up to during that time.

He was also involved in incidents involving vandalism and assaulting a limo driver.

That's also not all Sheindlin had to say on the matter. "Nobody's going to remember that he was a marginal singer, but they're going to remember a young kid, who had a chance to have it all, and who is blowing it by acting like a fool.

"I think it's sad."

Bieber has yet to comment on whether or not him being afraid of Judge Judy is true, but he has addressed his past issues.

He wrote in an essay that it was his struggles with drug use and alcohol that got him to such a low point.

He said that he had grown distant and hateful during those years.

"I became resentful, disrespectful to women and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me... I felt like I could never turn it around," he wrote.

Despite those feelings, he did manage to bounce back.

In his YouTube docuseries, Bieber shared his present-day outlook on things. "I'm committed to getting better and committed to doing whatever I have to do, whether it's inconvenient or not."

"Because I know ultimately it's not only for me."

"Being the best me is gonna help me be the best husband, the best father, the best friend that I can possibly be."

His career is just as big as ever, and it's been some time since he's gotten into any real trouble, so it's evident he truly put the work in to improve and recover.
