Let me ask you something, are your kids fussy eaters? Well, if you answered "yes," then I sympathize with you, alright. So I'm going to tell you a story about a mom who turned her culinary creations into works of art just to get her kids to eat their food.
You heard that right. Something tells me that this might inspire you to make something special in your kitchen the next time a meal rolls around.
Back in 2015, and on a whim, this mom wanted to do a fun activity with her son in the kitchen, so she turned one of his pancakes into a lion. Needless to say, her son loved it, and that's how the idea caught on.
And she happily obliged. So this mom took this as an opportunity to teach her son Jacob about cooking and the ingredients she was using. She told the boy that kale was a superfood because superheroes loved eating it.
First, Laleh started posting her food creations on her personal Facebook page. But after she got a lot of positive responses, she decided to start a dedicated Instagram page for it. And now she has a whooping 265K followers. Wow!
She wanted to inspire other parents to have fun with their kids in the kitchen. And I think her brilliant creations are the perfect example of what you can do too. If she can do it, why can't any of us, huh?
Oh, my goodness. How awesome is this? Check this out. Laleh made this face out of mashed potatoes. Haha! That's pretty genius, no? I bet the kids really loved this one.
Holy, moly. What have we got here? This panda is definitely turning red, hehe. Get this, Laleh created it using Vermicelli noodles, eggs, olive, and apple. I think it's just too pretty to eat. I would frame this instead.
Within a month of starting her Instagram food page, it went viral. Laleh's food creations got featured in Time Magazine, Huffington Post, The Today Show USA, The Today Show Australia, Sunrise, ABC TV, and Disney Channel Australia. And she got shoutouts from celebrities, such as Martha Stewart and Ashton Kutcher.
I can't say I'm surprised. These are so unique. Am I right? Even Ellen DeGeneres shared an artwork that Laleh made of her on her show! Can you believe that? Oh my gosh! It really does look like Ellen, haha.
Imagine if your food could look like this? I don't know about you, but it would be a lot more interesting to have to munch on something that looks so cool. Do you agree with me?
All the meals Laleh creates are edible. Some of them are commissioned, and others are just art pieces. I wonder how you can preserve something like that? I guess you can only take a picture of it, huh?
I was pretty much obsessed with ET. On the other hand, this piece of art might've looked too awesome to eat it. Am I right, hehe? I can't even imagine the work that went into making something like this.
Oh my goodness! Is that baby Yoda or Grogu, as he's known to fans? How cool is that? This is something I would put on my wall instead of munching on it, haha. She even got the little hairs on this head right. Wow!
So this piece is right up my alley. I don't know if it's really appropriate for young kids, but I love it. This is the cutest thing ever. I'd love to recreate it in my kitchen. What do you think? Do you think I can do it?
She can turn a simple spelt pancake into something else. And she's able to capture the exact spirit of each character she creates. I think it's all in the eyes, no? These faces all look so friendly and approachable.
Oh, yeah. Sign me up. Imagine if you showed up to school with something like that? You would be the envy of the entire class. Heck, I think every kid in school would want to be friends with you.
Here's my favorite Disney movie I loved as a kid. I don't even know how many times I've watched it. Lady and the Tramp have stolen my heart forever, and Laleh captured this scene so perfectly here.
