Brooklyn Beckham, son of David and Victoria Beckham, is being roasted online after implying his career as a chef has afforded him a luxury vehicle.

Nepotism babies are nothing new — a lot of our favorite stars are related to someone else who was famous, rich, or somehow connected to the industry they wanted to go in, and sometimes all three. It really only bothers people when these people who were helped along in their careers by their family connections downplay the extent of the help they had, which is what Brooklyn Beckham is being accused of doing.

Brooklyn Beckham has had a few career false-starts.

Brooklyn has in the past entertained career aspirations of being a photographer (he released a photography book that was met with a lot of criticism), as well as a modelling career. In a recent interview, Brooklyn has announced that those careers were not his passion, and that cooking is his true career aspiration.

“They were kind of all hobbies. I was still trying to find that one thing I would literally die for, and I found that with cooking,” he told Variety.

In a recent TikTok video that's gone viral, Brooklyn was approached in his car by Daniel Mac, as part of his "What Do You Do For A Living?" series.

The video series involves Mac approaching those who are driving expensive or luxury cars and asking them what they do for a living to earn the car. Brooklyn Beckham was recently approached while driving a red McLaren P1, one of less than 400 models of the car produced, worth an estimated $1.2million.

“Hey man, what do you do for a living? Your car’s awesome,” Mac asks him.

“Oh my god, I know you,” Brooklyn replies in the video, before adding, "I'm a chef."

“Are you, like, the best chef in the world?” Mac responds, alluding to the luxury car Brooklyn is driving, to which Brooklyn responds, "Trying to be."

“Any advice for people trying to get into cooking?” Mac asks him.

“Just follow your passion, whatever makes you happy, keep doing it,” Brooklyn responds before driving away.

The comments quickly filled with fans pointing out that being a chef is not how Brooklyn managed to afford the car that he's driving.

"Born into a multimillionaire family and now married a billionaire’s daughter. But he’s a chef!!" wrote one commenter. "He meant to say daddy’s money," another added, while another commenter wrote, "The guy has never worked a shift in a restaurant in his life."

"My dad is a former footballer and my mum was a spice girl.. chef, I'm meant I'm a chef," one comment read.

"Went to this "chef's" tik tok page and he has one video making pasta sauce from a jar," one commenter wrote, while another added, "it’s always incredibly motivating to me when kids with £500m parents tell us to follow our dreams."

What do you think? Was Brooklyn being misleading or just answering the question? Let us know in the comments!
