Olivia Newton-John discussed her beliefs on death in one of her final interviews before she passed away on Monday at the age of 73.

The world was shocked and saddened to learn about the death of beloved pop culture icon Olivia Newton-John this week. The Grease and Xanadu star, as well as the singer behind hits like "Physical," was celebrated around the world as an icon, as well as a symbol for all of those fighting breast cancer. Olivia opened up about this and about the concept of dying in one of her last interviews before her passing.

Olivia's husband, John Easterling, confirmed the news with a statement.

"Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time," Easterling wrote.

"Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer."

"Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation," he wrote.

"We all know we're going to die, but I think we spend our lives in denial," Olivia told Sarah Grynberg, host of the A Life Of Greatness podcast. "It's extremely personal, so it's hard to put into words. I feel that we are all one thing and I've had experiences with spirits and spirit life. I believe there is something that happens."

"I hope the energies of the people you love will be there."

"I think all the love will be there. I'm sort of looking forward to that," the star said. "Not now, but when it happens."

Our thoughts are with Olivia's family, friends, and loved ones during this extremely difficult time.
