Fans Pay Tribute To Olivia Newton-John After 'Grease' Star Passes Away At 73

On Monday afternoon, it was reported by TMZ that legendary actress and singer Olivia Newton-John had passed away. She was 73.

Fans immediately began paying tribute to the beloved pop culture icon on social media.

Olivia's husband, John Easterling, confirmed the news with a statement.

"Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time," Easterling wrote.

"Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer."

"Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the @onjfoundation," he wrote.

Fans took to social media to pay tribute to the pop culture icon.

Many fans shared their favorite clips of the singer and actress, best known for her role as Sandy in Grease, as well as her hit single, "Let's Get Physical."

"Fly high in Greased Lightning," shared one fan.

"We have lost a great, iconic artist in Olivia Newton John, gone too soon from us at age 73. I trust she is now in the great Xanadu beyond. Know that we are forever hopelessly devoted to you, Olivia. Rest in song and mirth," shared actor George Takai.

"Such an amazing talent. RIP to Sandra Dee," wrote one fan.

"Olivia Newton-John in Grease was what made me want to do musical theater. An absolute queen and a legend. This one hurts," shared a fan.

"Pre-teen me wanted nothing more than to be the gorgeous, talented Olivia Newton-John. RIP, spandexed queen," shared twitter user @goldengateblonde.

"My inner 11 year self is shattered. Farewell, Olivia Newton-John," wrote another fan.
