Ricky Martin's legal team is breaking their silence after the singer's nephew accused him of incest. Earlier this month, the "Living La Vida Loca" singer was issued a restraining order after a domestic violence incident in Puerto Rico. At the time, the victim’s identity had been withheld.

On Friday, Ricky’s brother, Eric Martin, identified the alleged victim as the singer’s nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.

According to the Latin Post, the 21-year-old is the son of Ricky’s stepsister.

Ricky Martin has been accused of "exercising physical and psychological attacks" on his nephew during their seven-month relationship, which reportedly ended two months ago, as per the "Latin Post."

If convicted, the singer could face up to 50 years of imprisonment in Puerto Rico due to their strict laws surrounding incest.

Now, Ricky's brother Eric Martin is speaking out on behalf of the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer, claiming that the allegations are false.

Speaking with the Latin Post, Eric said that Dennis suffers “mental problems” and that he was “very sure that his young relative was not telling the truth."

Ricky Martin's lawyer Martin Singer also gave a statement denying the allegations, saying: "Ricky Martin has, of course, never been - and would never be - involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew."

"We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs," he continued.

"But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts."

The 50-year-old singer has not been arrested or charged with a crime, and a hearing has been scheduled for July 21.
