In a new Apple TV+ docuseries, the Duke of Sussex Prince Harry revealed rare details about his son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, including some first words that had a more powerful effect on him than he expected.

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have stepped away from royal life, both have remained intensely polarizing international media figures. But of course, that hasn't stopped the press from obsessing over every detail of their lives.

And the more private a matter is to them, the more it means to those prying eyes. That's likely why it's considered such a rare and significant event when the couple reveals something about either their son Archie or their daughter Lilibet.

Indeed, it's hard to balance how proud someone is as a parent with how much they want to protect their children from an invasive public.

But considering how meaningful some of Archie's first words would turn out to be for Harry, it's not hard to see why he'd decide against keeping them to himself.

In late May, Prince Harry teamed up with Oprah Winfrey to release a six-part docuseries called 'The Me You Can't See.'

According to Cosmopolitan, the series is largely centered around mental health (particularly as it pertains to him and his family), but has also captured the interest of some viewers for marking the first time that he and Markle have intentionally showed Archie's face.

And while this revelation largely came in the form of clips of him frolicking on the beach and playing on a swing, that's not all they had to share about the little one.

Although the docuseries doesn't address the first very first word spoken by the two-year-old child, it does reveal one of his first words and certainly his most powerful.

According to People, Harry had already revealed Archie's first word on The Late Late Show, where he proudly shared that it was "crocodile" and made a point to note that it was three syllables long.

As he said at the time, "He's got the most amazing personality. He's already putting three or four words together, he's already singing songs."

After this first word, Archie said the common terms we tend to hear from infants like "mama" and "papa," but one he started saying after those was much more unexpected.

That's because he not only said "grandma," but "Grandma Diana" since Harry mentioned putting a photo of his late mother up in the child's nursery.

As he put it, "It’s the sweetest thing but at the same time makes me really sad."

After all, it was a powerful reminder that Diana never got to meet either Markle or the children she shares with Harry as he wishes she could.

Nonetheless, he mentioned that he feels that she would have been proud of him and Markle for taking the steps they did to live the kind of life she always wanted for herself and her children.

In his words, "So not only do I know that she’s incredibly proud of me, but that she’s helped me get here. And I’ve never felt her presence more as I have done over the past year."
