'ER' And 'Ray Donovan' Actress, Mary Mara, Dead At 61

ER and Ray Donovan actress Mary Mara has tragically died after drowning in the St. Lawrence River, according to TMZ. She was only 61 years old.

Mara was in a ton of notable roles over the years, including a role in the 1992 Billy Crystal film Mr. Saturday Night. She also appeared in West Wing, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Break Even, Star Trek: Enterprise, Nip/Tuck, Shameless, and The Practice.

'Er' and 'Ray Donovan' actress, Mary Mara has died.

She passed away at 61 years old after drowning in the St. Lawrence River. According to TMZ, the New York State Police said that she was swimming to get her exercise in.

Police received a call Sunday morning about a body being found in the town of Cape Vincent, New York.

A rep for Mara confirmed that she had been in Cape Vincent visiting her sister's summer home when she went for her swim.

The police statement read:

"When Troopers, along with Cape Vincent Fire and Ambulance arrived on the scene, they discovered a female deceased in the St. Lawrence River. The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Mary T. Mara from Cape Vincent, NY. The preliminary investigation suggests the victim drowned while swimming."

"The victim’s body showed no signs of foul play." it continued.

Mary's representative released their own statement to Fox News Digital, saying: "Mary's body was found this morning in her beloved St Lawrence River. She drowned while swimming."

"Mary was one of the finest actresses I ever met."

"She had a terrific sense of humor and a unique outlook on life. I still remember the first time that I saw her onstage in Mad Forest in 92. She was utterly captivating, well-loved, and will be missed."

She leaves behind a large family.

A stepdaughter, Katie Mersola, her sisters Martha Mara and Susan Mara, her brother-in-law Scott Dailey, and her nephew, Christopher Dailey.
