It sounds redundant saying this, but we truly have been living in a golden era of TV. With so many different streaming service options readily available at our fingertips, TV audiences are getting new content — the likes of which they've never seen before.

However, in order to make room for this plethora of new series, we must ultimately say goodbye to those who no longer are deemed to serve us well. With that said, have a look below and check out all the shows that have been canceled and renewed (so far) in 2022.

Renewed: 'The Umbrella Academy'

Netflix | Netflix

The Umbrella Academy has quickly become one of the most-streamed series on Netflix. The franchise, based on the comic book series of the same name, has fared so well that it was renewed for a 4th Season before Netflix released Season 3.

Canceled: 'Dynasty'

The CW | The CW

Sadly, there won't be a sixth season of Dynasty. The show simply wasn't able to recover from the dismal ratings and poor audience reception it has received over the past few years. I'm going to miss this one.

Renewed: 'The Simpsons'

The Simpsons is the show that refuses to die. While some consider the series' best years to be firmly in the past, it continues to limp forward by continually reinventing itself for new audience members and core diehards.

Canceled: 'Batwoman'

Batwoman in the sewer in 'Batwoman'.
The CW | The CW

Unfortunately when it comes to the ill-fated CW series Batwoman — the writing had been on the wall for quite some time. When your lead actor up and quits in the middle of filming, suffice it to say that it doesn't bode well.

Renewed: 'The Mandalorian'

We haven't even seen all that Season 3 has to offer and audiences can already rest assured that there will indeed be a Season 4! It would indeed appear that "This is the way" for Star Wars audiences at large.

Canceled: 'Atlanta'

Donald Glover in 'Atlanta'.
FX | FX

It's been an incredible (and rather hilarious run) for Donald Glover's Atlanta. But as the old saying goes, nothing gold can stay and all good things must inevitably come to an end. Fingers crossed that this frees him up to star in the Community movie!

Renewed: 'Love Is Blind'

Nick in 'Love Is Blind'.

Reality TV fans can sleep at night knowing that the most contentious and salacious Netflix series is set to make a triumphant return to the small screen. Rumor has it that it may be happening sooner than we might expect!

Canceled: 'Cooking With Paris'

This one hurts my heart. I truly believe that Paris wasn't given a fair shake, as Cooking with Paris was, at least in my opinion, one of the more enjoyable cooking shows to watch on the streaming giant.

Renewed: 'Outer Range'

Boy crawling out of a hole in 'Outer Range'.

Fans of Outer Range knew full well that Season 2 simply had to come. I sat and watched every single one of those mind-bending/perplexing episodes and I still couldn't tell you what was happening or even what the story is really about.

Canceled: 'Good Girls'

NBC | NBC

Have you ever seen a dog chase its tail? That's kind of what Good Girls felt like after Season 2. Don't get me wrong, the show boasted some incredible acting performances and adept writing — it just simply lacked direction.

Renewed: 'Yellowstone'

Kevin Costner in 'Yellowstone'.
Giphy | Yellowstone

Can I get a "Yee-Haw"? Yellowstone has very quickly become one of my all-time favorite series and clearly, I'm not alone. With stellar performances by Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly, renewing Yellowstone for its 5th Season was a no-brainer.

Canceled: 'Space Force'

It pains me to have to report that the short-lived satirical series Space Force has officially been grounded by Netflix. This is a downright shame, as Steve Carrell and John Malcovich shared some incredible chemistry on screen.

Renewed: 'Peacemaker'

Peacemaker and Eagly in 'Peacemaker'.
Giphy | HBO Max

Peacemaker is the show that has it all. It's got non-stop action followed by ensuing hilarity, outstanding music, and incredible dance choreography. If John Cena isn't nominated for an Emmy after this year, I'll literally eat my hat. This show is genius.

Canceled: 'The Flight Attendant'

Kaley Cuoco looking shocked in 'The Flight Attendant'.
HBO Max | HBO Max

I truly believe that we haven't seen the last of Kaley Cuoco and I eagerly anticipate the next project she decided to take on. Sometimes when you step up to the plate, you simply strike out. It doesn't mean you aren't talented — it's just a part of the game.

Renewed: 'The Boys'

Homelander throwing Ryan off the roof in 'The Boys'.
Giphy | The Boys

Season 3 of The Boys is currently streaming on Prime Video and it's easily the series' strongest showing to date. Antony Starr's Homelander is without question the best TV villain since Breaking Bad's Heisenberg — and I don't say that lightly.
