There's no denying Hollywood is filled with age gap relationships, it's kind of like what Hollywood is known for. I mean, also like moves and stuff but, an older man marrying a young woman is a tale as old as time. One of the most scrutinized age-gap couples is Katharine McPhee and David Foster, who have 35 years between them.

Now, David is speaking out about his relationship with Katharine, and how happy he is to be a dad again at 72.

As fans may know, Katharine and David welcomed their son Rennie on February 22nd, 2021.

Rennie is Katharine's first child and David's sixth — the 72-year-old music producer has five adult daughters and seven grandchildren.

"It's just great being a dad," he told People magazine in a recent interview.

"It's too cliché to say 'Now I have more time,' but I do: I have more time."

"Without any reflection on any of my other children, whom I all love equally, and equally as much as my son," he explained.

He then went on to defend his 35-year age gap with wife Katharine McPhee.

David and the "American Idol" alum tied the knot in 2019 after dating for two years.

"People always make the reference with Kat and I with the age difference, but I've always said there's so many things that can bring a marriage down, and age difference is just one of them."

"There's so many things that can go wrong. We think we have it pretty together."
